I absolutely love feeling the power of a large band behind me, experiencing the full range and intensity of its sound and all the subtle nuances it can create. I also enjoy the challenge of finding the perfect notes and phrasing to complement more complex arrangements. These are the two main reasons why singing with big bands is one of my favorite musical disciplines.
In 2014, I began collaborating with the Big Band of the Prague Salon Orchestra, and it quickly became a dream come true for me. The long-term and regular nature of our partnership, the significant space I’m given as a performer, and the warm reception I always receive make me feel like a genuine member of the band rather than just an occasional guest vocalist.
For most of the musicians, being part of this orchestra is a deeply heartfelt endeavor. They hold the opportunity to play here in high regard and savor every rehearsal and performance.
The orchestra primarily focuses on classic swing and popular songs, but it takes pride in selecting and introducing listeners to lesser-known, refreshing American arrangements that are anything but ordinary.
