Our dear friend and supporter Yka Halinen, who makes it to as many of our concerts as possible, perfectly captured the atmosphere of the concert at Květnický mlýn on his blog yhalinen.com like this:

It takes two to tango – and three very special musicians to make you want to listen to old jazz standards over and over again.
Petra Vlková – voc; Skip Wilkins – p; Libor Šmoldas – g. Each on their own possesses these qualities, but put them together and you understand what Hans Christian Andersen meant when he said, ‘Where words fail, music speaks.’ Last night’s concert at Květnický mlýn was filled with a deep sense of mutual musical understanding. I don’t know how else to describe the almost sensational positive creeps I had during the performance. Maybe it was Libor’s phenomenal way of making these old songs sound new, or Skip’s mastery of the piano, clearly rooted in the very origins of jazz, or Petra’s deeply personal and compelling voice? Or perhaps it was all of that, separately and together? And to be honest, I didn’t really care—I just enjoyed myself, just like the rest of us, including the trio on stage, because that’s exactly how it sounded.“

Dear Yka, thank you so much for your endless and always the kindest support!
